Transfer Timeline

There are a number of important deadlines to remember as you progress through the transfer process. The table below lists the deadlines of each step of the process. You can complete many of these steps prior to the deadline.

 Starting at Mason in:  Fall  Spring
 Take ENG and MTH  requirements  First year at NOVA  First year at NOVA
 Meet with Pathway counselor to discuss last  semester at NOVA  October or November (prior  to final spring  semester registration)  March or April (prior to final fall semester  registration)
 Submit application  By March 1  By October 1
Request a fee waiver from your NOVA Pathway advisor. (GAA admits only)  By March 1  By October 1
 Apply for NOVA graduation  By March 1  By October 1
 Submit FAFSA to Mason  March 1  March 1
 Transcript must be received  by:  March 10  October 10
 Send final NOVA transcript  May (after spring semester  grades and degree  have been posted).

GAA applicants should wait until the Associate’s degree has been awarded to send a final transcript. Typically by July.

 December (after fall semester  grades and degree  have been posted)

GAA applicants should wait until the Associate’s degree has been awarded to send a final transcript. Typically by early January
